Practical Quantum Computation with Trapped Ions
Jungsang Kim
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Duke University
Remarkable progress has been made in programmable quantum computers based on trapped ion technology, Quantum computing is moving out of the research labs and starting to attract real-world problems in various areas of science and industry. Flexible architectures enabled by trapped ion systems are leading the way in discovering new ways to tackle interesting real-world problems. In this talk, I will discuss the novel innovations made in recent years on developing high performance quantum computers and solutions to practical problems using trapped ion systems.
